POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES A tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level will be offered at Baruch College of the City University of New York (CUNY) beginning September 1, 2008. The initial appointment will be a cooperative fellowship with the RIKEN BNL Research Center (RBRC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory for a period of up to five years. During this period, the fellow will spend about half his/her time at Baruch College and the remaining time at the RBRC in BNL.
The Physics Group at Baruch College is part of the Department of Natural Sciences, and includes Sultan Catto, Ramzi Khuri and Peter Orland in theoretical high energy physics, Jamal Jalilian-Marian in theoretical high energy nuclear physics and Etan Bourkoff in experimental laser physics.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS A Ph.D. degree is required for an appointment to all professoriate ranks. Rank depends upon qualifications. We are seeking outstanding candidates with a Ph.D. in Physics, at least two years of postdoctoral experience, and the potential for exceptional research and excellence in undergraduate teaching.
