| Description | Joint Theory Seminar Speaker: Flip Tanedo (UC Irvine) Title: On-Shell Mediators Host: Yuhsin Tsai Room: 432 Abstract: We explore the viability of dark matter annihilation into on-shell light mediators for indirect detection signals using the FERMI Galactic Center diffuse gamma ray excess as an application. Because the annihilation rate is set by the dark matter--mediator coupling, the Standard Model coupling can be made parametrically small to `hide' the dark sector by suppressing direct detection and collider signals. We demonstrate the predictions of this framework and present ongoing work on novel model building directions and complimentary experimental searches that are independent of any specific indirect detection signal. |
