Description | Joint Theory Seminar Speaker: Tongyan Lin (UC Berkeley) Title: Detecting Ultralight Bosonic Dark Matter via Absorption in Superconductors Host: Xiaochuan Lu Room: 432 Abstract: Recently, the use of low-threshold superconducting targets has been proposed for detecting dark matter in the halo. I will discuss using these targets for detecting ultralight bosonic dark matter via an absorption process. The proposed detection method is sensitive to relic hidden photon, axion, and scalar dark matter with mass in the meV to eV range, where the reach can exceed the current astrophysical and terrestrial limits with moderate exposure. |
