| Description | High Energy Seminar Speaker: Flip Tanedo (UC Irvine) Title: Dark Photons from the Center of the Earth Host: Ennio Salvioni Room: 432 Abstract: We propose a search for dark matter annihilation into light mediators in the center of celestial bodies like the Earth, focusing on the present and future reach of IceCube and space-based telescopes. The effect of low-velocity enhancements to dark matter capture and unique kinematic features offer an opportunity for a smoking-gun signal. I also present prospects for an analogous search for light mediators from the center of the sun which may be detected by AMS-02, extending earlier work by modeling the effect of the solar wind. |
