Description | HE Seminar Speaker: Danielle Pranzetti Title: Black hole entropy in loop quantum gravity Host: Steve Carlip Room: 432 Abstract: After briefly introducing the main ingredients of the loop quantum gravity approach, I show how it can applied to the calculation of black hole entropy. I review some well known results and ambiguities in the derivation. Then I introduce a new perspective which might help us to solve the latter and allows us to recover the semiclassical Bekenstein-Hawking entropy formula. |
