| Description | LHC Lunch - Ilya Osipenkov, UC Berkeley Analysis of B0->rho0rho0 Decays, CP Violation and Implications for the CKM Matrix I present an analysis of B0->rho0rho0 decays for the full BaBar dataset (465x10^6 Upsilon(4S)->BBbar events). We find evidence for the signal, measure the corresponding Brancing Fraraction, longitudinal polarization fraction, and extract the CP-violating coefficients for the longitudinal component. During the talk I will provide an overview of the theory of CP violation and what role B0->rho0rho0 decays play in it, discuss how the measurement is made by the BaBar detector, and describe our analysis technique. In the end I will present the resulting restrictions on the CKM angle alpha and the implications for the Standard Model. |
