The Center for Theoretical Physics in the Physics Department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is continuing its broad faculty search, begun last year. We are searching for theoretical physicists interested in fundamental physics from QCD to the Planck scale. This includes nuclear and particle theory both within and beyond the standard model. It also includes string theory, quantum gravity, and the interface of all these areas with astrophysics and cosmology.

All those who applied last year will automatically be considered in this year's search, and need not apply again. Candidates who did not apply last year should submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a brief description of research interests and goals to

Professor Krishna Rajagopal
Department of Physics
Building NE25-4073
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
77 Massachusetts Avenue
Cambridge, Massachusetts 02139-4307

and should arrange to have three letters of reference submitted to the same address. The deadline for completed applications, including letters of reference, is November 10, 2006.

Faculty members at MIT conduct research, teach undergraduate and graduate physics courses and supervise graduate and undergraduate participation in research. Candidates must show promise in teaching as well as in research. Preference will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor level.
